Let’s Talk About Manifesting — The Truth

My Backstory

If I have to be honest, the idea of manifesting always threw me off a bit. I didn't believe that we can “put something into the universe” and ask for it to happen. I always thought this was a silly belief because there is so much more that goes into your goals and aspirations than writing it down and waiting for it to happen.

If you think similarly, I am here to tell you that I recently changed my mind (literally). I came across a few youtube videos about manifesting, and I began listening to people speak about it. It was in that moment that I realized I never fully understood it. I always thought it was just this idea of putting positive energy into a belief or a goal and waiting for it to happen. I realized that this is far from the truth.

My Definition of Manifestation

Manifestation is a guide for your mind. You need to spend the time to get accustomed to the thought and having what you are trying to have before you actually have it. I know that sentence sounded confusing and crazy, but let me break it down a bit. Lets say I have my own business and I want to “manifest” making $15,000 a month from it. In order to manifest this, I will of course need to take certain actions. I cannot just write it down in a notebook and wait for the money to fall out of the sky.

Manifesting is an ongoing process that is there to support your actions. You are much more likely to achieve success in your goals if you spend a little bit of time every single day reminding yourself of what exactly you want and preparing your mind for it. You need to be specific, and you need to have the same goal in mind that you wish to manifest. Our achievements as humans are bound to be more impactful if we focus on one goal at a time.

Personal Experience

I remember around 10 years ago when I was a teenager, I wanted to lose weight. I had packed on the high school freshman 15, and I was losing confidence day by day. When I look back at that point in time, it has never been more clear to me that manifesting played a huge role in my success.

I would think about my dream body every night before I went to bed. I would imagine myself having abs, and looking amazing on the first day of school. In the mornings when I woke up, I would plan my meals for the day and decide on my choice of exercise. I would read inspirational quotes to myself at least 2–3 times a day. It was truly engrained in my mind that this was going to happen. I was going to be in the best shape of my life, and my mind consistently reassured me of it.

I had never been more motivated in my life to exercise and eat a healthful diet. Maybe it was even a bit excessive, but I reached my goal. I was so happy and thankful to myself. I can’t even begin to explain all of the confidence and respect I had gained for myself.

You Should Give it a Try

If I could sum up manifestation, I would call it a training of the mind. Many people train their bodies, but never truly understand how to train their minds to succeed. Without the power of the mind, there would not be many successful people in this world. Next time you think of your goal, try to incorporate a bit of manifestation into the mix. You’ll be surprised at what your mind could accomplish!
